Gifts That Give ~ Twice

Gifts that give twice

Bonjour!

This week’s edition of Le Blog will stray a little from the usual content.

I wanted to share what I call Gifts that Give Twice.

If you purchase merchandise that benefits a charitable organization, like a tee shirt or ball cap, and then you give that to someone as a gift, you have gifted twice. Once to the non-profit and then when you gave it to someone. Now, I call that a win, win!

That’s what we’ll be doing this Saturday in Old Towne Orange at our Pop-Up event.

We will be featuring merchandise that the proceeds from the sales will be going to German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County. If you purchase “Paw” tagged items, 100% will go to the dogs. If you purchase Paris In A Cup merchandise, we will donate 20% to GSROC. Read on to get an idea of the merchandise available.

But first, I want to tell you why I chose German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County.

I have had the pleasure of working with these amazing people for several years. They do incredible work. Their volunteers, that means no one is paid, work tirelessly to rescue, rehab and rehome dogs that would otherwise die from neglect, abuse, or euthanasia in overcrowded shelters. I have personally seen the difference they can make and the transformations. It is nothing less than heroic.

True story: This last Thanksgiving, while you and I were home with family eating our turkey, GSROC got a call.

Without complaint, volunteers got into vans and drove out to a rescue.

Gracie ~ Saved by German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County

I won’t go into detail, but you now have an idea. Just so you know, even though they are a German Shepherd Rescue, and they do get purebred shepherds, they will take other breeds and mixed breeds,  into their lifeboat. Our Gracie was just such a rescue. On the euthanasia list, they got a call about a sweet dog in a shelter in another county. They drove out there and saved her life. I am forever grateful.

If you would like to learn more about them, please click the button. You can see the available dogs, look at their wish list, donate or consider fostering. Did you know when you foster a dog with GSROC that they pay for approved vet bills and most other expenses? Get more information on their website.

Heroism doesn’t come cheap. In an effort to raise much needed funds,

100% of the sales from the “Paw” merchandise will go to GSROC and 20% of our sales from Paris In A Cup will be donated.
